Presentation “Boatyards, shipbuilding and towing tank construction in Estonia” was given in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of Zagreb University.

Summary of the presentation:

Estonia is a country with high developed shipbuilding industry. The importance of shipbuilding industry and related to it activities are recognized in Estonia. As a result, a towing tank for hydrodynamic model tests was recently designed, constructed and put in the operation in Estonia.

Anni Hartikainen, Head of the Small Craft Competence Centre at the Tallinn University of Technology (TTÜ) and her colleague Tarmo Sahk introduced Estonian ship and boatbuilding industry, related study programs and research activity at TTÜ, student practice possibilities in Estonia. They also provided information about the experience in designing, constructing and using the SCC towing tank.
